Haley Cheyenne Wilcox

"I DON'T WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL, SCHOOL IS STUPID !!!!!!" That was an average morning when you woke Haley up. She would growl putting her striped skirt on with her knee high purple and pink socks, don't forget the red hair piece she would put in her unbrushed blond hair. Haley was one of a kind. This little girl touched more peoples hearts than you realize. I don't care who you are, you could not be around Haley and not laugh. Its amazing how many people knew her in a matter of 6 years.

On March 20,2004 Haley, Her Father (Greg), Pam( Her father's girlfriend) and I(her sister) were all in a fatal accident on Lillard's Ferry. It started when Pam had an asthma attack. We started heading out into the country to Greg's house when it started getting really bad.... The next thing I knew I saw headlights and a vehicle the size of a semi to the little 2-door camaro we were in. We clipped mirrors and beings that it was raining the car began to spin and hit a tree on the opposite side of the road that had a massive drop off into the river. I could literally taste the smoke and I saw that there was a lot of blood. I immediately looked at Haley and noticed she was leaning against the car unconscious. Pam was leaned over against the middle console unconscious also, I found out later that she had already passed away at this point. Since she was having an asthma attack she was already having a hard time breathing so when the impact of the airbag hit her, it took her last breath. Greg was in severe pain. Greg and I both managed to maneuver out of the compact car. I had called the police already and my mother. They were both on their way. My mother and Stepfather arrived before the ambulance did. Of course natural reaction when my mom still saw Haley in the car she began to scream. She insisted that my step dad, Jerry got her out of the car. He had to break the window because the door was jammed and he managed to get her out and lay her on the ground. At this time the ambulance had arrived, as they tried to get around the vehicles and my mom and Jerry to get to Haley. After about an hour everyone was loaded on the ambulance and we started off to town.. I remember the EMT's blocking my vision from Haley as they had to insert a tube down her throat to help her breath. I kept telling my mom, who was riding in the front of the ambulance that everything would be alright. I also made it very awkward for the EMT's too by asking them if my sister was going to die ?" They responded that they were trying the best they could. The lump in my throat felt about the size of a basketball. We arrived at Bluegrass Community Hospital as they unloaded Haley and I. Haley actually was put back on the ambulance because Bluegrass said they were not capable of giving her the appropriate treatment she needed. Of course the weather conditions were too bad to fly her to UK so they drove up there which they have wasted even MORE time now. I stayed at Bluegrass and recovered fine. March 21, 2004, Early in the morning, a precious 6-year old girl named Haley Cheyenne passed away. Its unbelievable how everything can go to perfect to a nightmare. I know everyone that knew Haley was mortified by this tragic event and even if you didn't know her. You have read this and know what has happened to our family. So this is a little way for everyone to write about their thoughts and feelings about our remembrance of Haley Cheyenne.
